Welcome message

Fantastic!!! Whatever you are a perfect beginner or a long-time practitioner it is our great pleasure to welcome you to our practice. Let’s discover by yourself how this will serve you. Where ever you are on your Yoga path, we hope our practice will bring better health, deeper peace and long-lasting joy in your everyday life.

Here after are a few things to take in to account in order to get the most of your Asana practice:

For safety purpose, before class, please let me know about:

 Any ache and pain you may have at the moment as well as chronicle pain.

 Any past injury/operation that may interfere with your practice.

 Any high/low blood pressure or dizziness.

So as for me to adapt your practice accordingly.

For an enjoyable and efficient practice, please:

1. Arrive a few minutes before starting time so as to have time to settle down before stepping on the mat. Especially if you need to change. My personal challenge is to get everything clear your way 10' before starting time. Please feel free to come in to settle down.

2. Avoid heavy meal at least 2 hours before class. Yoga is recommended to be practice with empty stomach. A light snack to avoid starving during class is no harm. Let give it a try and see how it goes for you.

3. Have plenty of water during the day and 15-20 minutes before class. Our body need much more water than the most of us used to do, especially when we exercise. Water will be provided in the class. However too much water intake during class may affect your comfort while getting in the posture. Yoga is first, peace in the body, and peace in the mind. If we can avoid any discomfort we will get the best from our practice.

4. Let me know in advance if you must go straight away after 60' practice. I'll manage to monitor the time for you so you have the peace of mind during your practice. I value very much the Savasana time (relaxation time) after the Asana session (Yoga posture practice) and might go over the time to help you get the most of it. Please let me know before class if you have to go quick after the class.

5. Turn off your Mobile phone or put it on silent mode before class.

6. Relax, be playful and curious! We are doing Yoga!!!

A few things to keep you safe on your yoga path anywhere you go:

1. Listen to your body at all time. Find your physical threshold between doable and not. Acknowledge and build up slowly from this rather than pressing through forcefully. Yoga is also about learning how to deal with our ego, how to love ourselves without judgement.

2. Move slowly with the breath, slow does not mean feeble, slow is control and power. Our body is powerful, when we give time for an intention to raise into a realisation. The breath is the communication channel through which we connect with our body. Listen to our breath, always.

3. Choose to pay attention to the feeling gather than to the seeing. There is no such thing as a perfect yoga pose. Each body is different and has its own alignment. Listen to the instructions from the teacher rather than copying your neighbor. Do not hesitate to ask for explanation to find your own alignment.

4. Choose to use props (belt, blocs, cushion…) when needed, as step-stone to grow your practice. Props sometime can give a deeper feeling to your pose and allow you to build up on from there. By far and large, using props is not an avowal of weakness but proof of mindfulness.

5. Choose a class level appropriate to where you are in your practice. Especially in the beginning, choose teachers who explain the alignment rather than class leaders who rush through the sequence with little adjustment.

6. Remember, Yoga is a lifelong practice, what grows slowly grows steadily. “The oldest tree grows slowest”.

Very happy to welcome you to our practice.

Please make sure you bring the filled-in health form to your first class with us.

Warm regards,

Namaste

Mai
